Boyd prides itself on providing a rich and stimulating academic environment which serves as the catalyst for the development of critical legal thinking. To hone these necessary skills, the Academic Success Program conducts a comprehensive network of presentations, activities, tutorials, and workshops designed to stimulate learning and amplify the classroom experience. The Academic Success Program supplements the required curriculum with a host of opportunities for students to enhance learning skills and develop more efficient methods of studying, comprehending, and writing in the law school environment.

CASE: The Center for Academic Success and Enrichment (CASE) is the peer to peer component of the law school's Academic Success Program. CASE mentors are available to provide one-to-one assistance to students.

Skills Workshops: Additionally, the Academic Success Program routinely offers skills workshops to all interested students, detailing essential law school skills such as note-taking, briefing cases, outlining and exam-taking techniques. Workshops on handling stress and managing time effectively are also offered. All students are encouraged to attend. For a list of upcoming workshops, click here (PDF).
One-on-One Assistance: Individualized academic counseling is also available for those students seeking personalized assistance in any subject area. Assistance is also available for alums preparing for the bar examination. Individual meetings allow students to identify their academic strengths and weakness, as well as their learning styles. This allows students to develop personally tailored study schedules.

For entering students: The Academic Success Program participates in the Introduction to Law Week by providing an overview of strategies for success in law school.
For current students: The Academic Success Program maintains a TWEN page with a bank of practice exam questions, Skills Workshops Powerpoints, and other useful information (TWEN is an acronym for “The West Education Network”). To register for TWEN, go to http://lawschool.westlaw.com, click on the “TWEN” tab, and follow the instructions.
The Academic Success Program’s CASE office also has a lending library with material on substantive legal topics, study aids and legal writing.

Early Bar Preparation Program: For our graduates, the Academic Success Program provides a series of pre-bar lectures to assist in preparing to take the bar, as well as opportunities for thoughtful feedback and individualized assistance in bar preparation.
