The mission of the Department of Career Services is to educate, prepare and assist our students as they pursue their legal career development and job search process in a global and dynamic legal community, both in the United States and abroad.

The staff and administration at the Boyd School of Law is committed to offering a variety of resources to assist every one of our students in obtaining employment. We offer the following programs and services designed to meet our students’ career needs:

Personalized Career Counseling: Includes resume and cover letter review and individual counseling to develop strategies for identifying opportunities and developing job search tools and techniques.

Workshops, Seminars, and Outreach: Addresses such topics as resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, substantive areas of law, and job search techniques on the World Wide Web.

Career Resource Center: Offers a Career Resource Library with numerous books, handouts, directories, articles, and other publications pertaining to all aspects of career development.

Job Opportunity Board: Contains all job opportunities posted at the law school. All job opportunities are posted for six weeks unless otherwise directed by the employer. Positions that have been filled are removed from Symplicity.

Fall and Spring On-Campus Interview Programs: Employers interview Boyd students at the law school during both the fall and spring semesters. The Fall On-Campus Interviewing (OCI) Program runs from the day after Labor Day until November 1st. During Fall OCI, employers may interview second-year full-time and third-year part-time students for summer internships and third-year full-time and fourth-year part-time students for post-graduation jobs. Spring OCI, which includes all students, runs for a two-week period from late February through early March. For a brochure on our 2008 Spring OCI, please click here.
