Nevada Immigrant Resource Project
The Nevada Immigrant Resource Project addresses a significant regional need by serving as a center for immigration-related information and legal education. Specifically, the Project supplements the direct legal services the Immigration Clinic offers by providing training and information regarding immigration issues to community partners, including local law enforcement agencies, government service-providers, and non-governmental organizations. The Project also works to improve the quality of legal services in Nevada by conducting continuing legal education courses for legal professionals on immigration topics, and providing opportunities for law students to engage in immigration projects with a systemic impact. Finally, NIRP engages in direct outreach and interaction with the immigrant community to better inform immigrants about their rights and to ensure noncitizens’ access to accurate information.
