If you have a DACA permit which is expiring in the next six months, your DACA renewal application should be completed by the end of next week. The completed application packets must be received by USCIS by October 5. As a result, the morning of Monday, October 2 is the latest that anyone can safely send off their applications (and in that case, express mail is a necessity).
If you need help completing the renewal application, volunteers from the UNLV Boyd School of Law
are ready to help, for free. Call 702-895-2080 for an appointment.
We can also refer you to organizations that may be able to help with the filing fee — but getting that assistance takes additional time, and may become more difficult as the deadline approaches.
In addition to our service
the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada (725 E. Charleston Blvd.) will help with DACA renewals on a walk-in basis, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
As things stand now in Washington, if you do not apply for a renewal, your DACA will end and you will not be able to renew it. If you have an expiring DACA permit, please renew. If you know someone who has an expiring DACA permit, please make sure they get their renewal application in. You can refer them to this video
as well. We do not want any Nevada students — or any Nevadans — to needlessly lose this protection and employment authorization.
You can send non-students to us as well.
Please call us if you have any questions. 702-895-2080.
